Terms & conditions
The plain-English version. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book — we would rather answer a question now than argue later.
Your booking
A booking is confirmed when we have sent you a written confirmation of the itinerary and you have paid the deposit. Until then the dates are held on request only, and we will tell you plainly whether the space is confirmed or not.
Prices and what they include
The price we confirm in writing is the price of the itinerary as described on that page, including the entrance fees, hotels, meals, transport and guide shown in the inclusion list. It excludes international flights, visa fees, insurance, personal expenses and the single room supplement, and a 3% VAT applies to the total cost. Where a price is based on a group size, we will say so and tell you what happens if the group is smaller.
Deposit and balance
A deposit secures the departure date. The balance is due 30 days before arrival. We will send you a formal invoice and a written record of what is included before the balance falls due.
Cancellation and date changes
Tell us as early as possible. Deposits are transferable to a new departure date within 12 months. Where a cancellation falls outside the suppliers’ own terms, we will show you exactly which portion is recoverable and which is not, in writing, before you pay — not afterwards.
Itinerary changes
We reserve the right to change the order or the content of an itinerary where suppliers, weather, transport schedules or local conditions make the original plan impractical. Where a change removes a major component, we will offer a comparable alternative or a proportionate refund of the difference.
Our shopping-free promise
Every itinerary we operate is 100% shopping-free: no compulsory visits, no commission-based stops, and no spending quota. If you are ever taken to a shop on a Wander China tour, tell us and we will put it right.
Your responsibilities
Valid passport, any required visa and insurance, and enough money to cover the items excluded from the price. Please tell us about mobility needs, medical conditions, dietary requirements or anything else that affects how we should run your trip — it usually changes the itinerary, and it is much better to know in advance.
Liability
We are responsible for the services we sell and for the care we owe you while you are on our tour. We are not liable for circumstances outside our reasonable control, including government action, natural disaster, industrial action, epidemic or border closure.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, and the courts of Aba Prefecture, Sichuan have jurisdiction. We would much rather resolve a problem directly than through a process, and we will always try to do that first.
